The name "Hong Kong Henry" comes from Henry Trading, the Hong Kong company that specially ordered this cake in 2003. It's based on the 7542 raw puerh recipe from Dayi (aka Menghai) Tea Factory, a benchmark tea first produced in 1975, though the exact blend of this cake isn't known. It's also known as "Serious Formula."
This particular cake has seen some more humid Taiwan storage, though nothing messy. It's relaxing and mellow yet still quite engaging, with prominent notes of aged wood, a bit resinous, and some root and tomato vine character. Any rough edges have been thoroughly smoothed over, and the tea is sweet and salivating with a stimulating mouthfeel and warming character. This is a long time favorite of ours and we're happy to be able to offer it.
Each cake is approximately 357 grams. The wrappers have seen some wear and tear.
