2023 Nanjian Heilongtan 8857 Ripe Puerh
This 2023 ripe puerh cake is pressed from Nanjian Heilongtan's 8857 recipe. Heilongtan ("Black Dragon Lake") is a tea factory in Nanjian County, in the Dali region of Yunnan, founded in 1988. Its tea gardens sit on Wuliang Shan (the Wuliang Mountains), where the range runs down toward the Lancang (Mekong) River.
8857 is a clean, pure tasting ripe puerh. It's warming, light and smooth, with a gentle earthiness, minerality and sweet dried fruit notes of raisin and a touch of sour cherry. It has a bright character with very little wood, and the aromas are intense and varied.
Pressed in 2023 and dry stored. Each cake is 357 grams.
