Takaki's Yamakai Dento Hon Gyokuro from Yame
This is an extraordinary traditionally made gyokuro from Hoshino Village in Yame. Loads of deep umami with notes of nori and artichoke. The mouthfeel is thick and coating and totally addictive.
Crafted by fourth-generation farmer Akihito Takaki from the uncommon Yamakai cultivar, the tea is shaded beneath traditional rice straw mats and picked by hand. It's an exceptional example of dento hon gyokuro, Yame's most traditional style.
